What follows is a series of overviews on a select group of Judith Robinson's research projects.

Funeral Industry New Product Development

  • Objectives: to explore the grieving process among family members in the year after a funeral and to uncover additional opportunities to memorialize the deceased family member.

  • Focus groups were conducted in which respondents were recruited to tell the story of the months following the official service, specifically any means by which they remembered the deceased and any sources of comfort.

  • Outcome: identification of opportunities for the funeral industry to remain in contact with, and to continue to provide long-term service to customers, following the official service.
