Areas of Study/Expertise
  • Developmental psychology, working with behaviorally disturbed children at a summer therapy camp as a teacher/therapist in a behavior modification setting, acquiring group management skills with children.
  • Gerontology, working at the Scripps Foundation Gerontology Center under Dr. Robert Atchley and Dr. Mildred Seltzer, pioneers in the field. As research associate on a longitudinal study of retirement adjustment, she was responsible for questionnaire design, management of the data set, and multivariate analysis of results. In this setting, she acquired experience with surveys, coding and data sets, working knowledge of regression and cluster analysis on SPSS and familiarity with in-home interviews.
